The PlayStation 3 (commonly referred to as PS3) is a home video game console and the successor to the PlayStation 2. It is produced by Sony Computer Entertainment and the third generation in the PlayStation series. It competes with Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. It was released on November 11, 2006, and it was the first and remains the only console to use Blu-ray Disc as its primary storage medium. As of November 4, 2012, over 70 million PS3s have been sold worldwide.

The PlayStation Vita (usually shortened to PS Vita) is a handheld gaming console designed and manufactured by Sony. It is a member of the PlayStation brand of gaming consoles and is the successor to the PlayStation Portable (PSP). It was released in North America on February 22nd, 2012. It competes primarily with the Nintendo 3DS, and as of June 2012 has sold 2.2 million units.

Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is the successor to the Xbox and the second video game console developed by Microsoft. It competes with the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3. It was released on November 22, 2005, and as of April 2013 has sold 77.2 million units worldwide. Since its release, it has undergone frequent upgrades. A slimmer version with five USB 2.0 ports (compared to three on older versions) was released by Microsoft on June 14, 2010.
